ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTING & DESIGN SERVICES

Enviromental

A fresh point of view, operating outside the lines, designing for sustainability.

Environmental friendly buildings are designed to maximize the efficiency with which buildings and their sites use resources—energy, water and materials—while minimizing building impacts on human health and the environment, throughout the complete building life cycle—from siting, design, construction to operation, renovation, and reuse.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Green buildings are energy efficient, resource efficient and environmentally responsible.

Energy efficient building refers to the incorporation of environment friendly and resource efficient processes.  These measures include:  circulation of fresh air through design and cross ventilation; energy-efficient air conditioning and lighting; maximising natural light; use of renewable energy resources and water-efficient plumbing fittings.

We have always felt a professional obligation to incorporate energy efficiency and sustainable design initiatives into our design philosophy. We believe that sustainable concepts and systems efficiency are integral to the design process.

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL BUILDING REGULATIONS

In order to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases buildings, and extensions to buildings in respect of which plans and specifications are to be drawn and submitted in terms of the Act, having specified occupancies or building classifications in accordance with regulation A20, excluding garage and storage areas contained within such occupancies, shall be designed and constructed so that they;

(a) are capable of using energy efficiently while fulfilling user needs in relation to vertical transport, if       any, thermal comfort, lighting and hot water; or

(b) have a building envelope and services which facilitate the efficient use of energy appropriate to their function and use, internal environment and geographical location.
