- ARE YOU REGISTERED? We
are registered with the South African Council for Architectural Profession
(SACAP) and South African Institute for the Architectural Technologist (SAIAT).
- DO
YOU DESIGN ONLY MODERN OR TRADITIONAL BUILDINGS? We
design and draw according to the client's taste and have no specific preference.
- WHAT
IS THE HALLMARK OF YOUR TYPICAL RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS? Open
plan and spacious with living areas facing north.
- DO
YOU DO ADDITIONS AND ALTERATIONS? Yes, we do.
- DO YOU HAVE A MINIMUM SIZE BUILDING YOU’LL
DESIGN? No, we do not have a minimum size
for new, alteration or additions to existing structures.
- WHY
DO YOU CHARGE A DEPOSIT? We normally
charge a deposit fee for consultation, time and expenses.
- IS YOUR FEE STRUCTURE BASED ON A PERCENTAGE OF
THE BUILDING COST OR PER SQUARE METER? Our basic fee is based per square meter for a new
structure. Addition: re-draw of existing plus a fee for the
additional added square meters.
- HOW LONG DOES THE PROCESS TAKE? It all depends on the client’s input and size of
the building. City Councils normally
take 6 to 9 weeks for approval. Some Councils take only 2 weeks. Approval time vary from council to council.
- DO YOU DO PROJECT MANAGEMENT? No.
- WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CONTRACTOR AND
A PROJECT MANAGER? A contractor is appointed by the owner to
build a building for an agreed fee. He
usually uses the industry’s standard JBCC contract. A Project Manager operates
as the owner’s representative and appoints the different specialists of the
industry.
- DO YOU DO INTERIOR DESIGN? We
do assist with the interior layout for the structure but do not do interior design.
